Eremophila maculata also known as the Native Fuchsia or Spotted Emu Bush. It is a very variable shrub, 2m high by 2m wide. The leaves vary from 1–3cm long, linear to ovate. The flowers on a long curving peduncle are yellow, pink, mauve or red and bloom in spring. It grows in arid parts of Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Northern Territory. Propagation is from cuttings. It is a very commonly cultivated species being very reliable. At the Arboretum you can find Eremophila maculata in the Emu Bush Area and in the beds below the main Picnic Area.
